Shock Monster: XL - 3D Print

This is a 3D printed version on the famous 50's - 60's Shock Monster. The Shock Monster started life as a mail-order rubber Halloween mask sold by Topstone Masks in the mid-1950s. It originally appeared in the 1956 Topstone catalog under the name "Horror Zombie" before later being renamed "Shock Monster."

What made it famous was not the mask itself—it was the artwork. The ad illustration was created by mask designer and artist Keith Ward, and many collectors believe he also sculpted the original mask.

The name "Shock Monster" was likely chosen to capitalize on the popularity of Shock Theater, the package of classic Universal horror films being shown on television during the late 1950s. It wasn't meant to represent a specific movie monster.
