Title: Star Spangled War Stories
Issue: #133
Publisher: DC
Year: 10/1952
Grade: vg 4.0

Another early all-war anthology issue. The lead tale follows a paratroop stick dropped off-target at night; a green radioman has to steady up and guide the squad to seize a ridge that controls a supply road by dawn. A second story spotlights an infantry scout who crawls no-man’s-land to mark machine-gun nests for an attack—learning that good intel wins battles. At sea, a PT-boat crew runs a torpedo strike through flares and tracer to break a fast enemy raider. The closer returns to the ground as a bazooka/engineer team turns a bombed-out village into a tank trap, using rubble, smoke, and timing to drop a heavier panzer. One-page “service life” fillers break up the action, keeping the focus on ordinary GIs improvising under fire.
