A modern (for the time) retelling of the FF’s origin. Reed recounts the unauthorized rocket launch that exposed him, Sue, Ben, and Johnny to cosmic rays—mutating them into Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Girl, the Thing, and the Human Torch. The flashback rolls straight into their first mission on Monster Isle, where they confront the Mole Man and his subterranean monsters (including a city-stomping behemoth). The team learns to work together under fire, smashes the Mole Man’s scheme, and returns to the present with a renewed sense of purpose—framing the Fantastic Four as a family born in crisis and forged by that first fight underground.
